Martin Jackson leads CRU's lithium analysis as part of the battery materials team, after joining CRU in 2018 from a background in mineral exploration.

Following a five year career as a geological consultant for the mining and mineral exploration industry in Africa and the Middle East, Martin's primary role is to develop CRU's lithium and battery materials analysis services.

Martin holds an MSc (Eng) in Mineral Economics from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, and a BSc in Economic Geology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Max joined CRU in 2025 and is Head of Battery Technology and Costs. He started his career as a battery scientist working on novel materials and scaling production techniques. He previously led research and analysis at a leading market intelligence firm, covering full value chain analysts across battery and electric vehicle markets.

Max holds an MSc in Materials for Energy and Environment from University College London, and is based in the London office.

Simon is CRU’s Director of Energy Transition. He is responsible for driving and communicating CRU’s strategy and insights with respect to the technologies and materials that will drive decarbonisation, helping CRU clients to navigate the energy transition.

An electrical engineer, Simon began his career in the UK steel industry before making the switch to business and technology journalism. He spent several years in the US as an editor, analyst, consultant and latterly CEO of a publicly traded US software company. In 2008 he moved into renewable energy as a co-founder of a startup dedicated to improving the efficiency of crystalline silicon solar cells, and two years later he co-founded a solar module factory design and integration company.

In 2015, Simon founded Exawatt to provide detailed cost and performance forecasting, supply-chain analysis and strategic consulting in sectors that are united by common theme: decarbonisation through electrification. These include solar PV, energy storage, electric vehicles and power electronics. Exawatt was acquired by CRU Group in early 2023.

Abby Seadler Wulf is a distinguished policy leader and strategist specializing in the intersection of critical minerals, economic competitiveness, and national security. Based in Washington, D.C., she has dedicated her career to securing the mineral supply chains essential for the global energy transition and American industrial strength.

Most recently, Abby served as the Critical Minerals Lead at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) during President Trump's first 100 days. She also headed the American Battery Materials Initiative, a Biden-era White House effort designed to mobilize the federal government in securing reliable and sustainable mineral supplies for power, transportation, and defense. Prior to her service at the DOE, Abby was the Vice President of Critical Minerals Strategy at SAFE and Founding Director of their Center for Critical Minerals Strategy. Her background spans roles at NASA and the American Geosciences Institute, where she spent over a decade injecting science into the federal policymaking process.

Abby is currently the Founder and CEO of a critical minerals consultancy where she advises federal agencies, nonprofits, and philanthropic organizations on critical minerals strategies. Her current research areas center on the nexus between critical minerals, industrial strategy, national security, and democracy.

Aleem has more than 15 years of experience across critical minerals, battery materials, mining engineering and corporate development. He previously led Tesla’s battery materials corporate development and strategy team, as well as its critical minerals policy team. He was also responsible for building the battery materials supplier industrialization team at PowerCo Canada, a subsidiary of PowerCo SE.

Earlier in his career, Aleem held roles in mining engineering, equity research and strategy consulting. He also played a key role in the due diligence supporting Largo Resources’ acquisition of VionX Energy Corp., which created a vertically integrated mine-to-battery-cell entity focused on vanadium-based battery energy storage systems.

Stacy is a defense industry executive with two decades plus of experience spanning national security, critical minerals, advanced manufacturing, and supply chain resilience. She has worked across the DoD as a civilian, prime defense contractors (products and services), and in the commercial sector.

She currently serves as Materials Strategy and Risk Manager at Lockheed Martin, where she focuses Lockheed’s strategic approach to secure it’s material-level supply chains. She is also Vice-Chair of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Manufacturing Division and does strategic advising to aspiring material and technology suppliers.

Prior to Lockheed, she was CEO of a U.S. subsidiary of an Australian graphite mining company, where she led early-stage development of a domestic anode processing plant.

Stacy held leadership roles at HII and Textron Systems, becoming known for her ability to build teams and customer engagement. She holds a BS in Materials Engineering and an MBA.

Bryan Anderson serves as Global Lithium Director for ExxonMobil, leading the development of the company's lithium business as part of its low carbon solutions portfolio. Since joining ExxonMobil in 2005, he has held a variety of leadership roles spanning operations, commercial, mergers and acquisitions, and business development in the United States, Qatar, and Angola. His previous positions include Commercial Manager for Esso Angola, Asset Manager of the Santa Ynez Unit in California, and Vice President of Unconventional Midstream for ExxonMobil's U.S. Upstream business. Bryan earned a degree in chemical engineering with a minor in business from Kansas State University and has served on numerous university, industry, and joint venture boards. Bryan and his wife, Celia, currently live in Tomball, Texas, with their two children.

As Chief Commercial Officer of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), Ms. Whitten serves on the agency’s executive leadership team as the executive responsible for both Origination and Policy, bringing unified commercial and strategic leadership to the U.S. government’s export credit agency. In this capacity, she oversees a team of regionally and sector-focused professionals driving new business development, while simultaneously shaping the policy frameworks that govern EXIM’s global mandate, including execution of a Congressionally mandated strategic initiative to enhance the competitiveness of U.S. exporters in critical and emerging sectors.

Prior to joining EXIM, Ms. Whitten served at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), where she advanced infrastructure finance across sub-Saharan Africa, facilitating the mobilization of capital for priority projects in energy, transportation, and telecommunications in close collaboration with public and private financing partners.

Ms. Whitten brings 15 years of private-sector banking experience to her public-sector leadership. At Standard Chartered Bank, she advised and structured complex financial solutions for a portfolio of multinational corporations operating in dynamic markets. Earlier roles on Standard Chartered's Debt Capital Markets team in New York and Merrill Lynch's Private Banking division in Chicago established a deep foundation in capital markets, investment strategy, and client relationship management.

Her global perspective is shaped by assignments in Tokyo, Johannesburg, New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., equipping her to navigate cross-border challenges and opportunities with nuance and strategic authority

Ms. Whitten holds a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a dual master's degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and the McDonough School of Business.
